POLICY
Every employee has the primary responsibility for their own safety and for others affected by their actions. Foreman, Managers and all other persons in authority must ensure health and safety compliance of those under their authority, including training in specific work tasks, respect of their rights to refuse work, and must take necessary measures to comply with environmental requirements.
OBLIGATIONS
WESTERN PACIFIC METALWORKS has a duty to “take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of a worker" as well as a duty to put in place a proper system to prevent the occurrence of offences under the legislation and to take reasonable steps to ensure the effective operation of that system (Supreme Court of Canada).
